For the 17th time the Slovak Textile Arts Association TxT is organising an international mini-textile art exhibition. The theme this time is “Memory of Textile“. For this purpose, the organisers stated: “Textile is such a common part of life that its exceptional values are often overlooked. Its close contact to body gives it emotional power. And in addition to many other properties, it also has the ability to record stories from the past – personal, intimate, but also collective. The historical memory of textile, as well as the private one, tell of past values, skills, relationship to the world and shift the legacy of its content towards the future.”
The organisers are asking for subjective and clear interpretations of the topic. The visual interpretation must include fabric-processing techniques as well as the artist´s own technique combined with fabric.The works of art should not be larger than 20 x 20 x 20 cm, the weight of the package not more than 2 kg. Every artist / student may submit up to 3 works. A charge of 30 Euros (20 for students) will be due if the work is selected for the exhibition. Each participant will receive a catalog. The exhibition is taking place from 3.6. to 21.06.2015 in the gallery SVÚ, Dostojevského rad 2, SK – 811 09 Bratislava, and from 1.7. to 24.7.2015 in the gallery SVU Manes diamond, Spalena 4, Prague1.
