The Slovak textile Artists Association TxT is organising their 16th Minitextile exhibition for professional textile artists and art students. The theme for 2014 will be “Textiles over Gold”, paraphrasing the tale ” Salt over Gold” telling the story how salt can be more important than gold. Interpretations should include fabric-processing techniques as well as mixed techniques combined with fabric. The size of the work must not exceed 20x20x20cm ( no frames or special constructions are allowed). The weight of the package should not be more than 2 kg. Selected artists are asked to pay a participation fee of 30 Euro ( 20 Euro for students).
The international jury is made up of some well known artists: Prof. Marga Persson/A, textile artist; Linda Brassington/UK, textile artist; Prof. Miroslav Broos/Sk Academy of Arts in Banska Bystrica; Adriena Pekárová/SK, art historian; and Erika Gregusová/SK, president of the TxT association. The exhibition curator will be Silvia Federova/SK, textile artist. As always a catalogue will be published (with a free copy for participants).
The exhibition will take place from 29 May to 22 June,2014 at the Gallery SVÚ, Dostojevského rad 2, SK-81109 Bratislava, Slovakia.
